Dr. Roberta Grynoch

Dr. Roberta Grynoch, MD, CCFP


Dr. Roberta Grynoch grew up in southern Alberta and has a medical family. Her father was a surgeon and her two brothers may be familiar to some patients - Nephrologist Dr. Richard Grynoch, and Internal Medicine specialist Dr. Bob Grynoch. Dr. Grynoch took her pre-med in Honors Zoology at the University of Calgary. She graduated from Medicine and completed the Family Medicine program at the University of Alberta. She is a certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada .

Dr. Grynoch worked as an active member of the Royal Alexandra Hospital General Practice Department and did deliveries, newborn- and inpatient care until 2004. Currently she is active in chronic illness, palliative- and geriatric care in long-term care and home settings, when she is not in the office.

Dr. Grynoch and her husband Ray Tomcej have three grown children and a busy schedule after work with racquet sports and family committments. Her interests include jazz music (two of her children play), ballroom dance, and cross-country and water skiing.

Dr. Veronica Tomcej

Dr. Veronica Tomcej, MD, CCFP


Dr. Veronica Tomcej graduated from the University of Alberta Family Medicine Residency Program in 2017. Prior to this, she completed her medical degree at the University of Calgary in 2015, and received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Alberta in 2012. Dr. Tomcej has a varied medical practice with patients of all ages and backgrounds, though she does have special interests in geriatrics and palliative care.

Dr. Tomcej loves to travel, and is an accomplished dancer and pianist. She is a member of an 80’s cover band playing keyboard and vocals. She enjoys all types of skiing (downhill, cross country, and water) and plays recreational soccer. She and her husband Ryan welcomed their daughter, Sophia, into the world on April 30, 2021. She joins their cat, Tasha, who has been a member of their happy family for years!

Ray Tomcej

Ray Tomcej, P.Eng., Ph.D.

Clinic Administrator

Ray oversees all non-medical aspects of the Clinic and provides essential back-office support services. He performs patient-facing duties as Medical Office Assistant and can often be seen working at the Front Desk. Originally from Winnipeg, Ray moved to Alberta before he had grey hair.

Ray holds BSc and PhD degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Alberta. He is a professional engineer registered with APEGA and EGBC.

Ray is President of Tomcej Engineering Inc., a small chemical engineering research and consulting firm. Tomcej Engineering developed and maintains MediBill, a comprehensive software package for the electronic submission of fee-for-service claims to Alberta Health.
